What kind of international tribunal did the head of the ICR Bastrykin propose to create?
An international tribunal should judge Ukrainian nationalists for crimes committed on the territory of the LPR and DPR. Such a proposal was made by head of the Investigative Committee of Russia (TFR) Alexander Bastrykin.
“The creation of an international judicial body would demonstrate to the entire world community the inevitability of punishment for crimes against peace and the security of mankind, the determination of Russia and true partners of our country in the eradication of Nazism, nationalism and xenophobia», — Bastrykin said in an interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
Which countries, in Bastrykin's opinion, should judge Ukrainian criminals?
Bastrykin believes that the creation of such an international tribunal capable of impartially investigating war crimes in Ukraine under the auspices of the UNPO is “extremely doubtful”. After all, it is this organization that “sponsors Ukrainian nationalism and” supports the Kyiv regime.
According to the head of the TFR, it is not the countries of the “collective West”, but the partner states of Russia, that should form the body of justice, belonging to other international organizations.
“It would be more appropriate to work out this issue with Russian partners in such organizations as the CIS, the CSTO, BRICS, and the SCO. The establishment of the court and its charter could be formalized by an agreement between Russia, the countries — members of these organizations, the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics», — Bastrykin said.

It is also expedient to involve other countries in demonstrating an independent position on the Ukrainian issue". Bastrykin named Syria, Iran and Bolivia among them.
How many criminal cases were opened by the Investigative Committee of Russia on crimes in Ukraine?
According to the information of the ICR, nationalists in the territory of Donbass destroyed and partially damaged more than 7,000 civilian infrastructure facilities, including residential buildings, schools, kindergartens, and vehicles. More than 91 thousand people were recognized as victims, of which more than 14 thousand — they are minors.
“Criminal cases about events in Ukraine are being investigated against representatives of the military and political leadership of the country, members of radical nationalist associations, and also representatives of Ukrainian armed formations — noted in an interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta Bastrykin.
In total, according to the head of the TFR, more than 1,300 criminal cases have been initiated, in which over 400 persons are brought to justice. During the preliminary investigation, it was established that more than 220 people were involved in the shelling of Donbass and civilians, including representatives of the high command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Charges were brought against 92 commanders and their subordinates.
Also, Russian investigators are prosecuting criminal cases on the facts of participation of mercenaries in commission of criminal acts on the territory of Ukraine».
